Festivals of India
India celebrates different festivals throughout the year. It is claimed that we have thirteen festivals in a year. These celebrations bring about change and make life more colourful. We observe four sorts of festivals: religious festivals, social festivals, cultural festivals, and national festivals. Religious holidays are connected with the ceremonies and rituals of many cultures. Hindus, for example, celebrate Durga Puja, one of their most important religious holidays. Muslims observe Muharrum, while Christians celebrate Christmas. Marriage ceremonies, birthday celebrations, and funeral anniversaries are some of our social holidays. Cultural festivals included Rabindra Jayanti, music conferences, book fairs, and so forth. Independence Day, Republic Day, and other national holidays are examples of national celebrations. Our joyful spirit lasts all year. Forgetting our troubles, we celebrate these holidays in a spirit of joy and liveliness.
